New SAEMC Publication New! PDF Print E-mail

Three new  SAEMC publications has come to light, here they are:

Vasconcellos et al (2011) analyze organic and inorganic components, including metals, of inhalable particles in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo. In al cities, formate/acetate ratios indicated the strong contribution of photochemical reactions. Analyzes were performed using in a coordinated manner existing laboratories in the various cities. Saide et al (2011 ) developed an urban scale PM10 and PM2.5 forecasting system that tackles the stable nocturnal conditions and steep topography of Santiago. PM10 and PM2.5 events are effectively simulated using CO as a PM surrogate. Results show that pollution episodes seem to be dominated by previous days emissions. Gallardo et al (2011) use observed CO to NOx molar ratios to evaluate mobile emissions at four South American cities.CO to NOx molar ratios decrease over the last 10–15 years, mostly due to reductions in CO emissions. The observed ratios are not captured by available inventories.  Major uncertainties are linked to CO emission factors and inadequate activity data for NOx. The evidence indicates overestimates of current NOx emissions. Link to the article here . Or download it directly here .

A new SAEMC publication has come to light, entitled Regional representativity of AERONET observation sites during the biomass burning season in South America determined by correlation studies with MODIS Aerosol Optical Depth from Hoelzemann, J. J., K. M. Longo, R. M. Fonseca, N. M. E. do Rosário, H. Elbern, S. R. Freitas, and C. Pires published in J. Geophys. Res., 114, D13301, doi:10.1029/2008JD010369.

A new SAEMC publication has come to light, entitled Development of Spatially disaggregated on-road transport emission inventories for the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires,Argentina from Ariela D´Angiola (SAEMC student) published in IGAC News Letter No.40.

A new SAEMC publication has come to light, entitled Adjoint inverse modeling of a CO emission inventory at the city scale: Santiago de Chile's case from the authors P. Saide, A. Osses, L. Gallardo and M. Osses it is published at Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Discussions, an interactive open access journal of the European Geosciences Union. This publication is open to everyone who wants to make any coments about it.

All Publications related to SAEMC or UMESAM project.
